SAFEGUARDING
At St Martin’s we are committed to:
• Promoting a safer environment and culture
• Safely recruiting and supporting all those with any responsibility related to children and vulnerable
adults
• Responding promptly to every safeguarding concern or allegation
• Caring pastorally for victims/survivors of abuse or other affected persons
• Caring pastorally for those who are the subject of concerns/allegations of abuse and other affected
persons
• Responding to those that may pose a present risk.
To meet these commitments, the Parochial Church Council for the Parish of St Martin with St Peter
has prepared and adopted a Safeguarding Policy, a Procedure for Reporting Safeguarding Incidents
and Guidance for using Social Media (see below). Safeguarding is a standing item on the PCC agenda,
and the policies, procedures and guidance are regularly reviewed. There is a dedicated safeguarding
notice board at the rear of the nave, on which there is a list of those who are authorised to work with
vulnerable adults and/or children in the parish.
